If you have thought about to sell your business and thought the time is not right, you could be wrong. As a business broker I find myself spending more time looking for businesses I can sell, then finding buyers. I have a database on buyers cashed up and ready to buy. You name it I have buyers; IT is one of the hottest.
In the darkest days opportunities come up, only the bravest pounce on them. After years on international trading floors, one thing stood out. The best traders were the long term ones that traded in bear and bull markets. They said that when everyone was selling that was the time to buy.
I have so many companies looking to buy IT businesses. I am not sure why; I was in IT for far to many years and happy to be doing what I do.
But it’s just not IT companies that people are looking too buy. The only businesses that seem to be buyer free are retail and hospitality.
Personally, I have a database of buyers, it would be nice if I had a database of business owners selling. If you don’t have the stock, it’s hard.
So, if you have been thinking about selling a business and think it might be the wrong time, it might be time for a rethink.
